DIY Facebook & Social Media Marketing presented by Robin Heppell

 

In this session, Robin will discuss the importance of using social media to promote your funeral home. He’ll go over ways to do your own social media marketing and how to analyze your results.

 

Serving the Community Through the Doors of the Funeral Home presented by Jill Lazar

 

A funeral home is a place where a community can gather and be together. Jill will teach you ways to prepare for events hosted at your funeral home when it comes to staffing, scheduling, and catering. She’ll also outline ways to promote your event and gain leads from it.

The Pains and Gains of Entering the Hispanic Market presented by Salvador Perches

 

As the Hispanic population rapidly grows in the U.S., funeral directors need to learn how to accommodate this group. Salvador will educate you on the customs, traditions, and needs of the Hispanic population and help you provide the funerals they want and need.

 

When Your Day Ends presented by Jeffrey Chancellor

 

This session is all about exploring the process of decedent care management with a strong emphasis on ways you can attract the best talent for your funeral home. Jeffrey will also focus on topics such as treating today’s most difficult cases, nuclear medicine, and practical clinical care.

 

A Place to Go: Why Ceremonies Matter presented by Linda Stuart

 

Life-Cycle Celebrant Linda Stuart wants to share why end-of-life ceremonies and rituals matter. In her presentation, she’ll outline how to help families appreciate ceremonies and how to create a meaningful one for them.

“Should I Bring the Ashes with Me?”: Better Support for Those Who Have Lost Pets presented by Jehanne Gheith

 

This interactive session led with case studies shows the important role pets play in our lives. For many families, their pet was another family member, which means that should be treated as such when they die. Jehanne discusses this topic in detail over the course of her session.

 

Communication is a Two-Way Street presented by Carolyn C. Shadle and John L. Meyer

 

This presentation outlines five ways funeral directors can show families they are actively listening. The presenters will also go over ways you can express your thoughts and concerns in response to what your families are saying.

 

Repeat Families: You Can’t Stay in Business Without Them presented by Ellery Bowker

 

Though acquiring new customers is important, keeping the ones you have might be even more so. Ellery discusses ways customer retention is overlooked in the funeral profession and ways you can build customer loyalty with the families you have served.
